The 2017 Motor Trader Top 60 Movers & Shakers, sponsored by Motors, reveals the key personalities in UK car retailing, those individuals who have influenced the motor retail sector over the past year and are set to make their presence felt over the course of 2017.
This year there are 13 new entrants, the most prominent being ex-Stratstone boss James Brearley who is now heading up Inchcape in the UK.
Other new entrants include Paul Flanagan (30) who heads up Groupe Renault UK & Ireland.
The managing director of the new Motor Ombudsman Bill Fennell (32) also makes his debut in the 2016 listings as does the executive chairman of BCA Marketplace Avril Palmer-Baunack (47) and Volkswagen brand director Alison Jones (54).
Some of our Motor Trader Top 60 personalities have shot through the ranking since last year, notably Darren Edwards, Sytner Group MD who moves from 11th place last time to number three in the 2017 listings following the high profile acquisition of CarShop and expansion of the group throughout 2016.
The listings include profile ratings and Motor Trader Top 200 positions for franchised dealer groups.
Of the 60 many have been selected because their business acumen has impressed, others because they are ones to watch.
