Arnold Clark boosts used business with Motorstore in York

Arnold_Clark_Motorstore_York_620Arnold Clark continues to expand its Motorstore used car offer with the opening of a new store in York.

The outlet has space for 250 used cars on site and access to over 18,000 vehicles on the Arnold Clark database.

This will be the 24th Arnold Clark Motorstore to open. The first store opened in Motherwell in 2001.

The new branch has servicing and parts departments, car and van rental, valeting bays and bodyshop repairs.

Other features include private consultation booths, a waiting area with hot and cold refreshments, a kids’ play area and Wi-Fi access.

Arnold Clark franchise manager, Gary Murphy, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing our successful Motorstore brand to a new city.”

Arnold Clark is rated four in the Motor Trader Top 200 dealer groups by turnover. Arnold Clark turned in a strong used car performance in 2015 with group pre-tax profits on continuing operations up 2.3% to £110.4m on turnover up 2.2% to £3.4bn.

New vehicle sales fell 8.4% to 83,813 because of a large fleet contract that was not renewed. Used car sales rose 10.8% to 175,526 vehicles with like-for-like sales up 7.9%.
