Arnold Clark Automobiles will develop the Motorstore showroom on a 10 acre site next to junction 14 of the M6 near Stafford.

Plans have been approved by the local authority and work is expected to start on the Primepark site shortly with completion in April 2008.

According to the company up to 1,000 cars will be on sale at any one time and there will also be a service and parts centre and a valeting operation.

Sales director Scott Willis said: “It is extremely advantageous to be next to the motorway. The other dealerships we have in the region will be able to feed off the site.

“Unlike conventional car supermarkets we will be able to provide a full range of both skilled and semi-skilled jobs for the local population.”

“We will sell cars from three months to five years old.”

Arnold Clark is headquartered in Glasgow.
