Cap hpi launches new app for vehicle data

Generic_tablet_620Cap hpi has launched a new app for Apple devices which provides access to vehicle valuation data in under 15 seconds.

The information specialist is pulling the plug on the print version of its valuations guide in February 2017, a move announced in December last year.

The updated app is accessed with an existing cap hpi subscription and offers car, LCV, HGV and bike valuations.

Adjustments for derivative, age, mileage and condition can be made and the core data updated on a monthly basis.

According to cap hpi users with a wi-fi or 3G/4G connection can search vehicles using a live registration lookup.

If a data connection is not available, valuations are still available within the app using a manual model and derivative search, with the data stored on the device.Β  There is also instant access to all previously saved valuations.

Black Book was first published in 1979 but print users have dwindled in recent years.

Commenting on the development Joel Albyn, product and innovation director at cap hpi said: β€œThe new iOS app provides great functionality and access to industry leading data. Our aim is to deliver the most reliable data in the industry across the widest range of digital platforms.

β€œ2017 will see a raft of innovations launched that take our services to the next level, and help customers work efficiently in an ever more connected automotive industry.”
