rPendragon’s CarStore platform is now listing 10,000 cars, which it said was bigger than any of the new entrants into the market.
The dealer group is continuing to look for new opportunities to expand the network, having completed the first store Chesterfield, in April.
The next full scale site will open in Warrington in the second half. The group has also opened a further 10 CarStore Direct locations so far this year.
The plan is for these smaller format, low-cost stores to drive volumes through its ‘Sell-your-car’ service and expand its click and collect service.
It said its cross-channel marketing campaign in May had boosted we traffic by 60% and a score of 4.5 out of 5 on reputation.com.
Pendragon CEO Bill Berman said the used car market had seen rapid development.
“As new trends have emerged, we have adapted our strategy away from a standalone proposition to a group-wide proposition ensuring we fully utilise our entire used car inventory.
“To facilitate this, CarStore.com has become a primary destination market-place for all of our used car inventory, with over 10,000 cars now listed across our brands at this single platform, more than any of the new entrants to the market.”
