MG has three models in the Top 10 Fastest Selling Used EV charts, reflecting its strong EV sales performance in 2022.
The fastest selling car in the September plate-change was the Kia EV6, which sold in 19 days. This was followed by the MG ZS, which shifted off forecourts in 20 days, acdording to Auto Trader data.
The Volkswagen e-Golf and MG MG5 took 21 days to retail while the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and Vauxhall Corsa-e sold in 25 days.
The remaining four cars in the Top 10 Table were the Tesla Model Y, Ford Mustang MACH-E, Mercedes-Benz EQA and the Renault Zoe.
The fastest-selling car Top 10 gives some idea of popularity while the slowest selling Top 10 paints a different story.
There was just one model that took over 100 days to sell, the Audi e-tron which took 104 days to find customer, five times slower than the fastest selling models.
It was closely followed by the Vauxhall Mokka-e on 95 days. The remaining three in the top five slow selling cars were the Audi GT, Lexus UX300e and Smart forfour which sold in 82, 79 and 74 days, respectively.
There were five cars in the Top 10 that took between 60 and 70 days to sell, the Tesla Model X, Mazda MX-30, Smart fourfour (in a different age bracket), CUPRA Born and Tesla Model S.
This month we also looked at the most in demand new EVs on Auto Trader. These are the models that attracted the most views on the platform. The top five cars attracted over 30% of market ad views with the most popular model the MG MG4, taking 10.2% of ad views, way ahead of the Citroen Ami in second place with 5.8% share. The other three models in the top five attracted around 5% share each, notably the Hyundai IONIQ 5, BMW iX and the Nissan Ariya.
And finally, we checked out the most in demand used cars on the platform, that is the cars that attracted the most ad views in September. Tesla clearly has a huge presence in the market taking four of the top six slots. In first place was the Tesla Model 3 followed by two models from the Volkswagen Group stable, the Porsche Taycan and Audi -e-tron. The Tesla Model Y and Model S made up the top five in terms of popularity.
