Chevrolet’s first MPV model will be shown as a concept at the Paris Motor Show in October.
The brand said the seven-seater Orlando (pictured) gives a clear hint of its forthcoming MPV model which will see the brand enter a new market sector.
Chevrolet said the concept will combine the look of an SUV with the practicality of a compact MPV.
The concept features three rows of seats while power comes from a 2.0-litre 150PS common rail turbo-diesel engine.
“The newcomer is a powerful suggestion of a future addition to the Chevrolet line-up, and will join the all-new Cruze compact family saloon on the Chevrolet stand at Paris, alongside two more new models that will be announced before the show opens in early October,” said a Chevrolet spokesman.
Chevrolet was one of the few brands to enjoy a strong August with sales up 43 per cent up on the same period in 2007 and year to date sales 12 per cent ahead of 2007.
