CX-3 crossover joins Mazda’s 2015 product rollout

Mazda_CX-3_620Mazda will add a second crossover to its range as part of a significant product rollout in 2015.

The CX-3 was unveiled at this month’s Los Angeles Auto Show and will be pitched against the Nissan Juke in the fast expanding small SUV sector.

The car will enter UK showrooms in the second quarter of 2015, and be available in both 2WD and 4WD. It is likely to retail from around £15,000.

Based on the Mazda2 platform, the CX-3 will sit below the CX-5, the car widely credited with kick-starting Mazda’s product led revival.

Like all new Mazdas the car will feature the brand’s fuel efficient SkyActiv engine, transmission and chassis technology. A choice of two 2.0-litre petrol engines and a 1.5-litre diesel unit will be available.

Next year will also see Mazda dealers selling a new Mazda2 supermini, face-lifted Mazda6 and a new generation MX-5.

First up is likely to be the revised Mazda6 which enters showrooms in February followed by the Mazda2. While the eagerly awaited MX-5 debuts in the summer.
