DMS provider Pinewood beefs up cyber security

Dealer Management System (DMS) provider Pinewood has beefed up its cyber security after undergoing assessment by the Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX).

This is an assessment and exchange mechanism for information security in the automotive industry.

The profile of cyber fraud has grown in recent months in the motor sector with two dealer groups subjected to attacks, including Pinewood’s parent Pendragon and Arnold Clark.

Dealers, suppliers, and other organisations are evaluating their data handling processes.

TISAX is a registered trademark, governed by ENX Association on behalf of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA).

Building on the ISO 27001 standard held since 2009, Pinewood had to pass an extensive audit, proving that they maintain a safe, secure means of information exchange. Neville Briggs, managing director at Pinewood, said: “We place significant value on protecting our data – it’s always been a priority for us, as a forward-thinking, data-rich business.

“The TISAX participation offers reassurance for dealers, manufacturers, and partners. It shows that we can ensure the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of data – now more relevant than ever.”

“Since the beginning, information security has been a priority for Pinewood, the cloud-based DMS provider.

“Alongside the ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certifications, and this latest TISAX standard, partners working with Pinewood can be sure that they are taking data security seriously.”
