Daniel Smith, the ex-head of aftersales at Cazoo, has joined City Auction Group’s logistics arm PurpleRock as operations director.
Smith will be responsible for developing PurpleRock’s vehicle defleet, logistics and repair business across all locations, including new ventures to be announced in the NW and Midlands.
He said: ‘I am delighted to be joining PurpleRock as their operations director. It’s an exciting time to join the business with the imminent redevelopment of the 30-acre Wittering operation and the addition of new sites across the UK over the next three to six months.”
Separately, Mark Thomas has joined City Auction Group as corporate sales director, having spent three decades working in senior roles at BCA, MBFS, Fiat/Alfa Romeo, Adesa and more recently TL Darby VW.
He will be responsible for developing the business across the corporate and dealer markets.
Thomas said: ‘I have witnessed the growth at City Auction Group and I’m delighted to be joining at the present time as physical auctions are thriving again after the last few years of online only auctions. “
