The Ford Focus has been voted the 2014 What Car? Used Car of the Year with the brand also securing top honours in the family car sector, also with the Focus, and the small car sector with the Fiesta.
The Focus 1.6 105PS Zetec five-door was the overall winning model, with Hyundai taking the city car honours with the i10, the Nissan Qashqai the small SUV, Volvo XC90 large SUV and Mazda MX-5 the fun car.
“By assessing durability and mechanical reliability as well as other subjective elements of thousands of used models, the judges have provided consumers with an invaluable buyer’s guide,” said What Car? editor Jim Holder.
“As What Car?’s Used Car of the Year, the Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec brings the best balance of performance and equipment for the money – and for only £8,000 you can get the current-generation model.”
