GardX International has appointed former Perrys chief executive Ray Sommerville as its non-executive chairman.
Sommerville retired from Perrys last year having led the group since 2001 and was responsible for more than doubling its turnover in his final year returning a pre-tax profit of £11m. Sommerville also held senior positions at Lex Retail and Quicks Group.
“We are absolutely delighted at the appointment of such a recognised industry leader as Ray Sommerville. His status within the industry is unquestionable and he will bring with him a blend of experience, relationships and wise counsel,” said Victor Coutin, managing director of GardX International.
“This is an exciting new phase in our business and we are really looking forward to working with Ray.”
Commenting on his appointment Sommerville said: “I am very excited to be joining such a driven and forward thinking company such as GardX.
