Grant Thornton UK LLP’s Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team has completed the sale of national tyre fitter and retailer Just Tyres.
Milton Keynes-based Just Tyres was bought by The Tyre Group which trades under several brands including Malvern Tyres.
Mike Tillson, Partner and Corporate Finance Automotive lead said: “The combination of our leading M&A capabilities and deep sector and operational knowledge is a true differentiator and enables the team to bring leading and value-added advice to clients.
“We have several ongoing deals in the sector and expect M&A activity to increase as the industry evolves and adapts to changing market dynamics and regulations.”
The transaction is the latest high-profile deal for Grant Thornton in the automotive sector.
Previous transactions include the £182 million sale of the UK’s largest privately owned car parts distributer, Motor Parts Direct, to South African listed, Motus SA.
The team also advised EV charging solutions provider, EB Charging on its £18.8 million sale to NASDAQ listed Blink Inc.
Last month, Grant Thornton acted for Glyn Hopkin on its sale to an Employee Ownership Trust.
The firm’s M&A offering is combined with its global Automotive Advisory group which advises companies across the automotive supply chain.
