Jaguar has revealed its first crossover concept vehicle, announced plans for a new C/D segment saloon and plans to expand its UK workforce.
The C-X17, revealed at this week’s Frankfurt Motor Show, is a hint of what the brand’s first SUV will look like. The car also shows off Jaguar’s new modular aluminium architecture which will debut in production form in the brand’s mid-sized 3-series competitor which is due to be launched in 2015.
Although Jaguar remains tight lipped about its plans for the C-X17 it is believed the production version could also be ready in 2015 and will be powered, like the new saloon, by JLR’s new four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines which go into production next year.
Meanwhile Jaguar Land Rover is creating 1,700 new jobs at its Solihull plant in support of its range expansion.
