MG Motor UK is using this month’s Motor Trader Open Points Roadshow as a springboard to promote its brand new MG6 and recruit dealers.
The MG6 is the fledgling brand’s first hatchback and will receive its UK show debut at the event which takes place on 21 October at the Nuthurst Grange Country House in Warwickshire.
MG Motor UK currently has 40 dealers in the UK, most of whom were MG Rover dealers, and wants to appoint a further 10 in less than a year.
Measuring mid-way between Ford’s Focus and Mondeo models the MG6 was designed in the UK and will be assembled at the brand’s Longbridge base.
The cars on show at the Open Points Roadshow will be left hand drive pre-production models which will give prospective dealers a chance to preview the vehicle ahead of it entering UK showrooms in early in 2011.
The new car, which will be priced between £16,000 and £20,000, marks the beginning of a busy launch schedule for the Chinese owned brand which sees a MG6 saloon following next summer and a production version of the Zero concept small car and another unnamed model which will sit between the Zero model and the MG6.
