Mitchell Group sees profits rise 14% to £2.4m in 2019

Mitchell Group turned in a strong performance in the year to December 2019 with pre-tax profits up 13.6% to £2.4m on turnover up 8.6% to £53.7m.

The company saw new car sales decline -1.5% to 998 units while used car volumes rose 5.6% to 1,536 units for the year.

Mitchell represents Lexus, Skoda and Mazda across Wirral, Cheshire and North Dales.

Group finance director Julie Oliver said: “This year’s results are doubly satisfying considering the continued political and economic uncertainty.

“They underpin the importance of mature and longstanding marriages with our three motor manufacturer partners and an endless focus on the customer experience.”

Mitchell is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2020. Over 70 of its 98 full-time staff have served over 10 years with the group.

The company opened for business in February 1990 as an Elf Oil service station in Warrington.

Managing director Mark Mitchell and founder employee Neil Crowden now group director developed three further locations over three years, purchasing the company’s first freehold service station in Neston in 1993.

The group sold used 4×4 vehicles during the 1990s before taking on the Lexus, Skoda and Mazda franchises.

Mitchell is ranked 175 in the most recent Motor Trader Top 200 Dealer Groups.
