Mitsubishi Motors opens first retail outlet

Mitsubishi Motors UK has opened its first retail store. The retail outlet is located in the intu Lakeside shopping centre in West Thurrock, Essex.

Development of the installation has been managed by Mitsubishi and automotive retail specialists Rockar.

The store has multiple vehicles on display, plus interactive digital displays and analogue content designed to encourage customer interaction with the brand and its products.

Customers can learn about the vehicle range, moving through to booking a test drive. Vehicles can also be purchased using the recently-launched Buy Online facility, which is supported by the nationwide dealer network.

The 1,281 sq ft store was designed by leading retail design agency, Dalziel & Pow. Experience zones allow customers to browse various features, while fixtures and fittings have been chosen to reflect the positioning of the SUV-focused brand.

 

Rob Lindley, managing director, Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said: “The store’s design perfectly conveys the bold, adventurous nature of the Mitsubishi brand and we’re delighted to partner with intu and Dalziel & Pow to create a platform that enhances our retail operation and will attract a whole new audience to our brand.”

intu Lakeside is has an estimated annual footfall of 20 million visitors. Work is currently underway on a 175,000 sq ft leisure extension. Rebecca Ryman, regional managing director for intu, said: “As the first-ever Mitsubishi Motors store in the UK, the retailer will give customers more reasons to visit from further and for longer and will appeal to the highly affluent customer demographic at intu Lakeside.”
