2011 Motor Trader Top 200 Franchised Dealer Groups

The last financial year proved to be better than anticipated, according to the 2011 Motor Trader’s Top 200 survey.

Despite the meltdown of sales and consumer confidence in 2008, groups subsequently reaped the benefits of the scrappage scheme, strong demand for used cars and good financial cost controls.

These are among the findings of the latest Motor Trader Top 200, the comprehensive guide to the health and wellbeing of the franchised dealer sector.

Pendragon continues to dominate the sector with a £3.2bn turnover, followed by Sytner at £2.2bn and Arnold Clark at £2.1bn.

The top six groups in the UK turnover over £1bn. The survey shows that 2009 represented a major turnaround from the average 0.2 per cent loss sustained by the sector in 2008.
