The highest achievers in the motor retailing sector were acknowledged and rewarded at this month’s Motor Trader Awards. The gala dinner, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in the heart of London’s West End, attracted over 1,200 guests making it the biggest night in the event’s 24 year history.
Congratulations to all our finalists and winners. The quality of this year’s cohort was extremely high; a sure reflection of how the industry is not just back in business but more innovative and customer focused than ever before.
The night had many highlights. From John Inverdale’s slick compering duties, and Andy Parsons’ astute stand-up routine (made even funnier by a Tory heckler) to an incredible classic rock soundtrack (with all bases covered between Led Zeppelin and AC/DC!).
Best of all was the sheer delight shown by many of our winners; especially Alex Charalambous, our inaugural Business Manager of the Year, from Now Vauxhall Hayes, who insisted on giving everyone on stage a big Greek hug! Well done Alex; passionate people like you are what the awards are all about.
We also chose the awards as an opportunity to launch our all-new fully responsive website to the industry.
Our website has been through many guises since it was first launched 20 years ago and now, with its new look and feel and expanded content, including a comprehensive recruitment section, with over 3,500 jobs, we believe it offers a one-stop shop for automotive retailing professionals looking for news, views and career opportunities.
It’s also more interactive than before so do let me know what you think.
