P&O Ferrymasters Chooses GE’s TIP Trailer Services for Maintenance Services

“The impact of this on our daily operations will be huge,” explains Bas Belder, Managing Director of P&O Ferrymasters. “It will make our life much easier and we can concentrate on shipping the trailers through the most optimal route. And the downtime of the trailers will be significantly reduced which means less pressure on the operations.”

P&O Ferrymasters has not only outsourced the maintenance and repairs of the fleet with TIP, but also the tyre management, giving them the benefit of talking to only one supplier for all their maintenance requirements.

“FleetCare from TIP Trailer Services is a service we offer our customers so that they can have more flexibility in their operations,” said John Murray, Managing Director, TIP Trailer Services, GB & Ireland. “We have service points all across Europe so that when maintenance is needed or a breakdown occurs, downtime of the trailer is minimal, which means that our customers’ operations will operate more efficiently.”

The agreement between P&O Ferrymasters and TIP Trailer Services is for six years, “but because of our excellent relationship with GE, I expect that this agreement will last long into the future,” concluded Mr Belder.
