Right Car looks to buy new sites, profits up 159% to £5.6m

Right Car saw pre-tax profits increase 159% to £5.6m on turnover up 31% to £51.4m in the year to May 2021.

Right Car represents Renault and Dacia at its Hull, Grimsby and Louth sites and Ford at its Beverley site. It also has two mobility retail operations, a bodyshop and a motorcycle retail business.

In results filed at Companies House it said that the performance of the aftersales department continued to improve through greater efficiency and improved marketing of the customer database

On the future outlook it said it was in a strong position to grow market share both naturally and through acquisition.

“The director believes that opportunities to acquire addition sites will arise, given the current market conditions,” it said.

The group acquired a new suite at Louth during the period and has plans to open a customer call centre in the near future.

Launched in 1999, Right Car describes itself as the largest independently owned car supermarket in East Yorkshire.

The profit figure includes £1.8m revaluation of property.
