Stoneacre Motor Group has acquired the £70m-turnover Trenton Motor Group for an undisclosed sum.
It adds Nissan, Dodge, RAM, KGM and Citroen aftersales in Grimsby and Nissan in Hull together with a New & used Van Centre and a standalone used car site.
Trenton is ranked 156 in the Motor Trader Top 200 Dealer Groups with annual turnover of £69.5m in the year to December 2022.

John Loose, former MD of Trenton, is to take up a new position with Trenton parent company East Riding Holdings. He said on LinkedIn: “After leading Trenton Motors into the state of the art , market leading Motor Retail business it has become today and enjoying a proud tenure as managing director for the last five years it was a bitter sweet day passing the reigns to Stoneacre Motor Group on Friday.

The acquisition expands Stoneacre’s footprint and reinforces its commitment to supporting local communities and preserving employment opportunities.
All employees will transfer to Stoneacre Motor Group with the exception of directors, stakeholders and those employees who will transfer to Trenton Group companies.
The acquisition increases the number of Stoneacre’s sites to 65 where it represents 33 franchised partners in 120 locations.
