Volvo Car UK appoints Jon Wakefield as acting MD

Volvo Car UK has appointed Jon Wakefield as acting managing director, succeeding Nick Connor who has been appointed chief executive of Polestar, its high performance division

Wakefield has worked for Volvo in the UK for nearly four years as sales director, joining the brand in 2012 from Fiat Group where he had worked as sales director across the Fiat and Alfa Romeo brands.

Wakefield has worked on the retail side in his career. He was general manager with Inchcape for two years between 2008 and 2010.

He also did a stint as sales director with Mercedes-Benz Retail and two years as general manager with Porsche Retail Group.
