BYD has been rolling out its network of dealers in the UK and ramping up sales. BYD’s sponsorship of Euro 2024 has delivered a ‘dramatic increase’ in awareness of the brand.
In a survey of 693 consumers on its platform, Carwow found that 46% of respondents said they had heard of BYD versus 28% pre-tournament – the highest level of awareness of all Chinese brands included in the survey.
BYD is the most widely recognised new entrant car brand, according to JudgeService, outperforming fellow Chinese brands as well as US and Vietnamese brands.
The JudgeService Car Brand Tracker polled the views of 1,244 owners and BYD led the Top 10 rankings for spontaneous awareness with 13% of participants having heard of the brand.
Neil Addley, MD of JudgeService, said: “The results of our Car Brand Tracker show the amount of brand building work most of the new entrants have yet to do to get themselves onto car buying shopping lists, including those who have already opened sales channels in the UK.
