The new Qashqai is in production in Sunderland and will arrive at dealer forecourts in the coming weeks.
Pricing will start at £30,135 and it is available with a mild hybrid petrol engine or Nissan’s e-POWER technology.
Diana Torres, Managing Director of Nissan GB, said: “The original Qashqai pioneered the crossover vehicle category that is so popular with customers today and, over the last 18 years, it has become a hugely successful icon of the UK motoring industry.
“Its unique combination of design, performance and technology ensure it stays ahead of rivals and these latest upgrades will reinforce its place as one of the nation’s favourite new cars to buy.”
The Qashqai line-up will include the new N-Connecta (£32,305), the N-Design grade (£34,845), Tekna (£34,845) and Tekna+ (£38,875).
In 2022, the Qashqai became available with e-POWER which is Nissan’s electrified powertrain where the wheels are driven by the electric motor to create an EV-drive sensation.
Nissan’s EV36Zero combines EV and battery manufacturing with renewables. The manufacturer has confirmed production in Sunderland for future all-electric versions of Qashqai, JUKE and LEAF. Nissan expects its passenger car line-up in Europe to be 100% electric by 2030.
The latest upgrades required a £30m investment in the plant. Changes include investment in facilities for new panels, bumpers, paint colours, interior features, materials and trim.
Adam Pennick, Nissan’s VP for manufacturing in the UK, said: “We’re so proud to call Sunderland plant the home of the Qashqai.
“Having the number one team behind the number one crossover is a winning formula, and we can’t wait to see how much our customers enjoy the new design and extra tech.”
