Stellantis &You UK has appointed Richard Garbutt as its new Chief Executive, replacing Angela Shepherd.
He has been promoted from his sales director role which he started in 2016, overseeing new, used and fleet operations.
Garbutt said: “I’m delighted to be appointed. Having been a part of the Group for almost 20 years’ I’ve seen the Group and our teams and people evolve, and I’m passionate about the success of both.
“We know the challenges of such a dynamic market, but more importantly the opportunities, I look forward to working with the whole team to create success together.”
He has experienced the Group’s expansion to include Citroën Retail Group and Go Vauxhall, and Fiat and Abarth. He has also been involved in the digitalisation of systems to improve used car performance and profitability.
At the start of his career, Garbutt joined Peugeot in 1994 in sales, aftersales and franchising roles. In 2005, he moved to Robins & Day and started as sales manager. Eventually, he progressed to other roles including branch manager and general manager.
He also held a regional Manager role where he was responsible for London and Scotland. This experience has allowed Garbutt to witness shifts in customer purchase requirements, experience and a more recent move to EVs.
His experience will be valuable as Stellantis &You, Sales and Services continues its multi-franchise expansion plans.
A new six-brand showroom will open in Bristol in the summer, adding the Alfa Romeo and Jeep brands added to Stellantis &You UK’s portfolio.
