Charity Ben has shared new details about its two fundraising events – Ben’s Big Breakfast and Ben Ball. The events aim to raise £150,00 to help fund the charity’s support for automotive industry people who are struggling or in crisis.
The Big Breakfast event will run from 7th to 13th October, during the week of World Mental Health Day on 10th October, while the Ben Ball will take place on 11 December.
Matt Wigginton, Director of Partnerships, Engagement & Income at Ben, said: “Ben is on a mission to help more people each year; three times as many by 2030.
“That’s a bold ambition, but one we know we can achieve with the help of our industry.
“Events like this are crucial – and these are our two biggest events of the year, so we hope you’ll join us and make a real difference to the lives of those in our automotive family.”
There is no fundraising target but if people choose to host a Ben Bear raffle, a minimum of £50 is expected. There are a limited number of Ben bears available but other prizes could include cars, for example, if the event is hosted at a dealership.
Donations can still be made without hosting event but if people register to host an event a fundraising page will be automatically created.
Later in the year, Ben will host its Ben Ball which will be supported by AutoTrader. The entertainment for this year’s 1920s themed Ball will be a Great Gatsby experience by the Electro Swing Project which featured on London’s West End.
The entertainment, supported by LKQ Euro Car Parts, will feature aerial performers, acrobats, dancers and West End singers.
