Mercedes-Benz is hoping to kick start sales of Smart vehicles with the launch of two new models in 2015.
The carmaker is launching the Fortwo with prices starting at £11,125 and the Forfour at £11,620.
Smart has 52 full-franchise dealers and a further 20 satellites within its 125-strong Mercedes dealer network.
But, by year end, it wants to sell Smarts through all Mercedes dealerships using in-store virtual configurators or similar means.
Smart’s sales and range had dwindled from a 11,844 high back in 2004 when both forfour and fortwo models were available to just 4,342 fortwos in 2014. Production of the previous four-door supermini stopped in 2006.
The cars are powered by a choice of two three-cylinder petrol engines, the naturally-aspirated 71hp 1.0 (999cc) unit and a turbocharged 90hp 0.9 (898cc).
The cars go on sale in March with estimated annual sales of 8,000.
